The Enterprise Planning and Continuous Improvement (EPCI) group within the Division of Information Technology seeks to hire a graduate assistant to support a number of activities. Working with the Director, a successful candidate will perform research and analysis focused on higher education administration to aid in the improvement of business operations at the University of Maryland. These efforts will include both academic and practical projects supporting process improvement and innovation. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, literature searches and analysis, peer institution investigations, survey design, interviewing, and synthesizing findings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education, social science or business. Candidate must be enrolled in a UMCP graduate program.

*Superior analytical, logic and problem solving skills
*Outstanding research skills including synthesis and analysis of data
*Demonstrated success dealing with ambiguity and ability to learn on the fly to understand and solve new problems
*Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a manner which is clear, logical and consistent
*Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact at all levels of the university
Preferences:
*Familiar with higher education administration and academic operations
*Knowledgeable about higher education policies and governance
*Knowledgeable about process analysis and improvement methodologies

This is a 20-hour, 12-month appointment with full GA benefits, including a maximum of 10 hours per semester of tuition remission and State of Maryland benefits.
