The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Committee, in partnership with the Office of Multicultural Involvement and Community Advocacy (MICA) is very excited to announce a Read-a-Thon celebrating Black History Month! The theme of this year’s events is “The Blackprint”.
“Black culture is the foundation of many past and current American and global trends. Many of the products we enjoy today were made possible by the innovations, leadership, and inventions of black influencers, activists, entrepreneurs, engineers, and scientists… In honor of Black History Month 2020, we’ve chosen “The Blackprint” to pay homage to those who have overcome adverse circumstances and made invaluable contributions across American history and culture.”
The event will be held on Tuesday, February 25 from 11 am to 4 pm in the Portico. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to stop in anytime to listen to or read aloud passages, speeches, or quotes written by inspiring Black leaders, innovators, authors, and scientists.
