GIS Specialist Position

AECOM’s Impact Assessment & Permitting (IAP) Department in DC Metro is looking for a creative and talented Geographic Information System (GIS) specialist to create the many maps and figures our studies and reports require. While the IAP Department focuses on environmental impact assessment, regulatory compliance, natural resources management, cultural resources management, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance, and environmental permitting, our GIS Specialist will also support, as needed, other departments, including our Environmental Remediation and Compliance departments. The position will report to Germantown, MD. The ideal candidate for this position will be highly proficient with ArcGIS, detail oriented, and will combine technical knowledge with a good sense of design to create accurate, complete, clear, and attractive maps and figures for proposals, work plans, and reports. The ability to work with multiple teams on multiple projects at the same time and often on tight deadlines is essential. Candidates with no previous work experience will be expected to show relevant course work in GIS or cartography.
