GIS Intern: CG/LA Infrastructure

About us: CG/LA Infrastructure focuses on the creation of long-term value in the world's infrastructure markets. Our goal is to support the doubling of global infrastructure investment by 2020. Infrastructure is the internal framework for a country, allowing its economy and its citizens to be productive and healthy. CG/LA provides public and private sector firms with services based on over two decades of working in various infrastructure sectors in the developed and developing world.
Core services provided by CG/LA Infrastructure include the Infrastructure Leadership Forum Series, Strategic Consulting, Project Development, and Macroeconomic analysis based on proprietary tools. Together these services form a dynamic package allowing stakeholders to properly identify key market challenges and effectively develop business.
We are looking for an intern excited to use his or her technical abilities with GIS to serve an instrumental role in the constant improvement of this sophisticated platform. He or she must also enjoy the challenges that come with working in a dynamic work environment and with a rapidly growing knowledge platform.
Responsibilities: Because CG/LA is a small firm, GIS interns are given the opportunity to take ownership of the GViP Platform through:
- Using their experience and abilities with GIS to improve the platform’s mapping function
- Tackling key start-up issues like: creating client value through innovative features and technologies like GIS to drive user growth and platform utilization
- Collecting and compiling GIS data
- Inputting and converting GIS data
- Creating, manipulating, designing, and delivering GIS feature classes, maps, and databases as required by project developers and team members
- Interacting with high-level clients to insure a successful product

Compensation:
Interns will receive a stipend to cover related costs:
Part time $100/month
Full time $250/month

Qualifications:
- Undergraduate student in their final year, or graduate student, with background in Business, Marketing, Economics, Engineering or Computer Science
- Experience and significant comfort with GIS, either from previous academic or professional experience
- Spanish or Portuguese desirable
- Exceptional oral and writing communications skills
- Capacity to operate and interact with high-level executives
- Ability to work independently and in a group setting
- High-level research and organizational skills
- Must be highly organized, detailed oriented, self-motivated and able to work in a dynamic and fast
- paced environment
