The class is MFRI101 Preparing for Common Emergencies.   
The
 class is approved for 2 credits.   As a quick summary the class is 
designed to help students prevent, prepare for and/or respond to common 
emergencies.  At the completion of the course students will be able to:
- become certified in Heartsaver First Aid/CPR and AED
 - correctly treat a patient with uncontrolled bleeding
 - determine and correct common safety hazards in their home
 - childproof their home
 - determine steps that they can take to travel safely
 - safety respond to common emergencies while traveling
 - correctly install a car seat in a vehicle
 - change a tire on a car
 - describe the process for jumping a car battery
 - put together a preparedness kit for natural disasters
 
It will be offered on 
Wednesdays during the second summer term.  It will be 6.5 hours per day 
with 1/2 hour for lunch.  There will be a fair amount of hands-on 
activities to keep them active during the day.
