EDHD 498G: Cross-Cultural Approaches to Child Development and Poverty in Chile and the U.S.

Course Description
This course will help students gain a cross cultural
understanding of child development and poverty in
different contexts: the U.S. and Chile. In this project- based course, students will work on international teams formed by 2 US and 2 Chilean students.
This course will cover:
Conceptualizations of poverty in the US and Chile
Demographic data
Public policies to fight poverty
Empirical research on the impact of poverty on children and
adolsecents in a variety of

domains
