GIS Internship with the Washington DC Economic Partnership

The Washington, DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) is looking to mentor GIS interns for Spring 2018 in their Research and Real Estate Departments. This is an unpaid internship, but there will be a travel stipend to help cover the cost of transport to and from work.

Individuals who are interested in GIS and how it relates to urban planning and commercial development are encouraged to apply! This position also will work on a complete semester-long project designed to showcase the intern's skills and interest to potential future employers.

Responsibilities of this internship cover the DC Development Mapping Project, Cartography, Data Analysis, and working with others to assist staff or plan events. Overall, the benefits of this internship are vast!

To apply for this internship, individuals must...

  • be available at least 16 hours/week (2 days)
  • have experience using ArcGIS/ ArcMap desktop (v. 10+)
  • be a currently enrolled or recently graduated undergraduate or graduate
  • have an interest or degree in Geography, GIS, Economics, Economic Development, Urban or Regional Planning, Real Estate Development/ Management, Public Policy, Business
  • be competent with Microsoft Office
  • have stellar writing skills and the ability to pay attention to details
