Federal/Global Semester Fellows Program

Federal/Global Semester Fellows Program- Great for Geographical Sciences Majors!
Think a career in public service is only for government and politics majors? Think again! Federal agencies, nonprofits/NGO’s, think tanks, and policy-related organizations are interested in your scientific expertise as they confront pressing issues in science, technology, healthcare, cybersecurity, and sustainability. The Global Semester Fellows and Federal Semester Fellows Programs offer you a chance to take your skills out of the classroom and apply them in the real world. Apply today! Earn Scholarship in Practice credit and a Fellows Program notation on your transcript!
Both programs combine a fall seminar in an issue area with a spring internship in Washington D.C. Some of our concentrations include Science Diplomacy, Energy and Environment, Responses to Global Challenges, and Homeland Security Policy. Past internship locations include: National Institutes of Health; Department of Energy; Genetic Alliance; House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology; Aerospace Industries Association; Department of State; Bureau of Oceans, Environment & Science; White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; and Department of Homeland Security. Year-round activities include trips to Capitol Hill and federal agencies, professional development workshops, and conversations with policymakers.
