The
National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) at the University of
Maryland is now accepting applications for faculty mentors and undergraduate
interns for the 2016 SESYNC Undergraduate Summer Internship Program.
The
goals of the program are to:
§ Enhance student understanding of the complex nature of socially relevant environmental problems.
§ Introduce students to research approaches, particularly the synthesis approach, used to address socio-environmental problems.
§ Enhance student understanding of how scientific evidence may be used to inform decision making and policy with regard to environmental problems.
Internship
positions are full-time (40 hours/week) from June 6–August 12, 2016. Interns
will be paid $11/hour by SESYNC.

Interns must be registered as full-time undergraduate students at the University of Maryland, College Park or Coppin State University. Seniors who graduate in spring of 2016 are not eligible for this internship.
Applications for undergraduate internships and letters of recommendation must be received by
Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at 5 p.m. EST.
