Student Database Intern

Description

NASA ARSET provides training on access and use of NASA earth science resources (http://arset.gsfc.nasa.gov). The program is seeking an undergraduate student to provide database and communications support for the program for 20 hours a week. The main duties are:  

Assist with record keeping and participation database management

Support outreach activities to gather interest in the ARSET program from organizations across the world

Generate graphical representations of program data

Write outreach articles promoting the ARSET program

Qualifications

Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline required. Must be U.S. citizen to gain access to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

Skills needed: Good verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, MS office including word and excel.

Highly desirable: coding experience, particularly relevant to database management, proficiency in GIS (Geographic Information Systems)

The work will be conducted offsite, with one trip per week to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center to attend meetings.
