DSAC Application
The Dean’s Student Advisory Council (DSAC) was formed in the fall of 2002. The Council is charged with advising the BSOS Dean and Associate Dean on various topics affecting students and their educational and social experiences at the University of Maryland. DSAC also led the charge in the formation and founding of the College’s Ambassadors Program, which has proven to be a successful addition and support system for BSOS and its Advising Center. (For more information about DSAC and positions check us out here: https://go.umd.edu/DSACBSOS)
DSAC is developing systems to help the College strengthen its sense of community, and is creating better relationships with each academic department in hopes of being able to better address the issues and concerns of students. Each year, DSAC holds the highly-attended Student-Faculty Dinner to connect students and faculty outside the classroom and foster professional relationships. This year, the Council has focused on establishing anonymous grading to reduce implicit bias, hosting several Student-to-Student series to connect underclassmen majors with upperclassmen in various departments, organized a career preparation fair for BSOS students to receive free headshots and resume editing, and more! DSAC is a resource for BSOS students to voice their concerns on issues regarding the college.
DSAC consists of undergraduate representatives from each department in BSOS, the living/learning programs in the College, the undergraduate SGA, and the University Senate.

Technology Support for Students
Hi Geoterps! I hope you all are staying safe and healthy out there, but also taking some time for yourselves! In preparation for classes moving fully online for the rest of the semester, the DIT Terrapin Tech program is providing loaner laptops and wifi hotspots for students who do not have access to the technology they need to support online learning. They will ship the technology to students' homes via FedEx. If you or any student you know may be in need of this technological support for online learning, please visit https://it.umd.edu/tech-resources.
Thank you all for your understanding and patience during this time!
