Intern for a Day


Intern for a Day connects undergraduate students with alumni, parents, employers and community partners for one day internship/shadowing experiences.  This spring, we have 200+ hosts with 550+ possible shadowing placements in a wide variety of fields and industries!

In order to be considered for Intern for a Day, students must attend a short, 30-minute orientation session which covers the application process, workplace etiquette, appropriate dress, professional correspondence and more.

Interested in Terrorism? Apply to the Global Terrorism Minor Today!

The Global Terrorism Minor program, run through the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism here at UMD is currently recruiting students to apply for the next cohort of students! Have an Unpaid Internship? Scholarships available - Deadline extended to Feb. 10

Bright Futures 'Unpaid Internship' Scholarship 
DEADLINE EXTENDED TWO DAYS: Wednesday, February 10

The Bright Futures 'Unpaid Internship' Scholarship awards students with need-based scholarships ranging from $250-$1,250 to help offset expenses incurred during unpaid internships.

Eligible Candidates 
All registered University of Maryland, College Park undergraduate students returning to campus for the fall 2016 semester, who have an internship for spring 2016, are eligible to apply. Graduating seniors (May 2016 & August 2016) are not eligible. Preference will be given to juniors and seniors and to those who have not previously received an award.  In order for a student's internship to qualify for funding support, it must satisfy the following criteria:
  • Unpaid on-campus or off-campus internship with a non-profit organization or government agency
  • Offered during the spring and completed by Friday, May 20, 2016
  • Supervised by a professional in the organization

Submission Deadline: Wednesday, February 10 at 5 p.m.
