Overview
Esri’s Professional Services Strategic Consulting Team supports all Esri Customers in the development of strategy, governance and location integration for business planning and operations. In this highly visible role, you will function as both a strategic and technical consultant supporting public and commercial businesses worldwide. You will become a trusted advisor to customers by helping them develop best practices for implementing ArcGIS within their organization to develop a path to realize their vision and goals.

Responsibilities
As a Consultant, you will be responsible for:
Enabling customer success and maintain and expand Esri footprints in Federal markets though implementing strategy, governance, and business planning workshops
Being the liaison between professional services and our customers as a trusted consultant through maximizing the return on investment in the Esri platform
Key attributes of a Consultant:
- Be a thought leader: Advise customers regarding innovative solutions using Esri technology by implementing location into the customer’s enterprise by helping them make better decisions and solve business problems. Recommend relevant strategies, best practices, architectures, and solutions to maximize customer return on investment.
- Understand our customers and know their business: Help foster a sense of community among business leaders within our customers.
- Engage with our customers: Help our customers to discover the value of location and spatial analysis within their existing and novel workflows and drive substantial return on their investment in our system and services by guiding our customers to develop strategies, a governance framework, and business planning.
- Develop and grow business: Provide business development support toward technology and implementation patterns with new and existing customers. Collaborate with Esri’s practice managers and marketing and sales teams to develop new business and be part of actively shaping the future of the public and commercial sectors.
- Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with a record of using technology to improve customer efforts
- Understanding of the ArcGIS system and how it relates to public and commercial customers
- Knowledge of geospatial and mapping concepts
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to elicit strategic goals and objectives and requirements from customers
- Demonstrable experience in strategic thinking and operational planning
- Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to learn – you must thrive in dynamic, cross-functional and matrixed team environments
- Self-motivated, a proactive problem solver, team-oriented, and creative
- Strong, persuasive, and friendly communication, storytelling, and collaboration skills
- Ability to clearly communicate strategic and technical ideas, whether to technical or non-technical customers
- Ability to consult and engage with senior level leadership (e.g., experience preparing and delivering executive summaries and briefings to senior leaders)
- Bachelor’s in geography, GIS, Information Systems or a related field
