Hello!
The Counseling Center invites the UMD community to Mental Health Awareness Week, October 5-9! MHAW is our annual weeklong program of events to reduce stigma on campus and improve student wellbeing. Now more than ever, we want to be sure that students are actively taking care of their mental health. Please share the above link and the attached PDF (which has our calendar as well as individual events flyers with descriptions) widely with students. We hope UMD students near and far will join us to break down health barriers, STAMP out stigma, and take time for self-care in a variety of virtual events and one in-person (and socially distanced) event! Please note, 4Maryland guidelines will be followed. Thanks for your help in getting the word out and supporting our efforts to improve mental health on campus!--Allison Asarch, Psy.D.Coordinator of Consultation and Outreach ServicesStaff PsychologistUniversity of Maryland Counseling CenterDepartment of Student AffairsPronouns: she/her/hers1129 Shoemaker Building4281 Chapel LaneCollege Park, MD 20742P: (301) 314-7651F: (301) 314-9206Follow us on Twitter: UMCounselingCTRLike us on Facebook: UMD Counseling CenterStatement Regarding COVID-19:Given the University of Maryland's transition to providing instruction online for the rest of this semester, most of the treatment provided by counseling services will be available remotely by telephone and/or via tele-therapy until further notice.
