Under general supervision, supports geographic information system activities, including database development, database maintenance, application development, and testing in the agency.
- Develops and maintains topologically structured versioned geodatabases.
- Develops and maintains geodatabase specifications, database dictionaries, and technical procedures.
- Performs quality assurance and quality control testing on geodatabases.
- Develops geographic information system models using model builder and python.
- Performs analysis on a broad variety of geodatabases.
- Assists in identifying business process improvement opportunities involving geographic information systems.
- Analyzes geodatabases and related databases using a structured query language.
- Executes geographic information system application test plans.
- Creates metadata for geodatabase development and maintenance projects that comply with Federal Geographic Data Committee standards.
- Provides access to geographic information system products and services available to internal and external customers.
- Provides quality customer service.
- Undertakes special projects as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geography, geographic information systems, cartography, or a related field.
Experience using a geographic information system as described in the "Examples of Duties" may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
