ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN - GIS ANALYST

The City of College Park, MD has a full-time position available for an engineering technician who is proficient with GIS technology.  Hours are generally M-F, 7:30 to 4:00. Duties include:  assisting the City Engineer with capital improvement projects; conducting traffic analyses; recording and responding to resident complaints regarding street infrastructure repair and other services; maintaining the GIS database and performing geospatial analysis; preparing technical, hard-copy, and digital maps; updating the webpage of the City Engineering Department; and a variety of other projects.  Requirements include: a BA in civil engineering, GIS, or closely related field or the equivalent in experience; proficiency with the Esri ArcGIS family of products or similar software; and some work experience. Must also have excellent communication skills, proficiency with computers, and a valid driver’s license with good driving record. Starting wage will depend on qualifications with minimum of $25.56 hr. plus excellent benefits.
