IBM Early ID Mentorship Program

IBM Global Business Services (GBS) is looking for innovative, hardworking individuals interested in a career in consulting for our selective Early ID Mentorship program.
This yearlong mentorship program includes one-on-one career coaching with IBM Consultants, networking opportunities, and private informational sessions about IBM and Global Business Services including: 
  • Introduction to Careers in Consulting
  • IBM Early Professional Consulting Program Overview
  • IBM Educational Workshops and exposure to IBM Technologies
  • Attend an in-person event in the DC Metro Area
  • Additionally, participants in this program will have the ability to participate in interviews for an internship position!

What would a future consulting role in Technology look like at IBM?
You will help design, develop and integrate solutions using best practice technologies, tools, techniques and products our clients demand today. Client projects could be focused on cybersecurity and biometrics, cloud migration, application development and testing, and enterprise application development and maintenance.
What would a future consulting role in Cognitive & Data Analytics look like at IBM?
You will provide technical and analytical support in order to gain business understanding, prepare data, analyze data, and build and evaluate either predictive (regression or classification) or prescriptive (simulation or optimization) models. Cognitive & Data Analytics consultants at IBM will deploy advanced analytics techniques that are traditionally applied to structured data, as well as Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning techniques for unstructured content, to enable comprehensive cognitive solutions. 
What would a future consulting role in Business Transformation look like at IBM?
You will work at the intersection of technology and traditional business transformation to help your clients transform. Business transformation consultants develop an understanding of client processes, goals and objectives to define both the future state and the path to get there. You will help your clients understand digital and cognitive technologies and the impact that the technologies can have on traditional business processes. Our business transformation consultants work on projects spanning Supply Chain Management, Internet of Things, Talent & Engagement, Customer Experience & Design, Digital Strategy, Enterprise Applications, Program Management, Finance, Blockchain and Cognitive/Robotic Process Automation.

Qualifications:

What do we look for in an Early ID Mentorship Program Participant?
• A minimum GPA of 3.2 is a preferred qualification of this position
• Interest in IBM’s Public Service Sector located in the Washington, DC Metro Area
• Genuine interest in government, our clients, and their industries, and how technology can impact, support and transform day to day business processes
• Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: HTML5, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Bootstrap, jQuery Libraries, JavaScript, JavaScript/XML (AJAX) programming in.NET, PostgreSQL, C++, C, Python, Java, and any other Machine Learning languages
• Familiarity with Agile Development, Operating Systems, hypervisors, scripting languages, network configuration tools, DevOps environments, and the concept of integrated systems management is a plus
• Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to adapt, with willingness to readily take ownership of tasks and problems, which often extend beyond initial scope of responsibility
• Thorough and analytical, with capability to apply logic to solve problems
• Ability to thrive in an ever-changing, technology-based consulting environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with individuals, strengthening relationships to achieve win-win solutions
• A passion for innovative ideas, coupled with the ability to understand and assimilate different points of view
